Prof. K. Moutzouris studied Physics at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds MSc and PhD degrees in Photonics from the University of St Andrews, UK. He worked for several years as postdoctoral researcher at the University of Konstanz, Germany and ETH-Zurich, Switzerland. His research interests include the areas of laser science, applied optics and biophotonics. He is author of more than 70 original publications in scientific journals, conferences and collective volumes. His research work has received 1.000+ non-self citations.

Spyridon Koustoumpos studied Physics at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. He obtained a PhD in Physics from the University of Konstanz and an MA in Finance from the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg. His research interests include the transport properties of low dimensional Coulomb liquids and the optical properties of turbid media.

Maria Matiatou studied Medicine at the University of Patras. She completed the General Surgery training programme at the 1st Propaedeutic Surgical Department of Hippokration General Hospital of Athens and received her PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in oncological and reconstructive breast surgery from Université Paris-Sud. She is a member of the medical committee of Hellenic Paralympic Committee and the medical committee of Hellenic Sports Federation for Persons with Disabilities. Currently, she practises medicine, as a consultant in breast surgery, at the Metropolitan Hospital of Athens.
